Greetings from St. Peter’s Church in the Loop!

On behalf of the Franciscan Friars and our Church staff, I want to welcome you to our website and also to our parish. We have been welcoming people to St. Peter’s in this location since 1953, when the church opened primarily for the people who worked in the Loop and those who came downtown to do their shopping. Our location in the heart of the Loop also allowed us to welcome the many visitors who came to Chicago for vacations, attending a convention, for a family wedding, and many other events.

While we continue to offer a place of prayer for those working in the Loop, we also welcome those who now live in the Loop, the thousands of college and graduate students who frequent the schools which now dot the Loop and our visitors and tourists who come to experience the tremendous variety of things to do here in Chicago.

Presently,  our Masses on Monday through Friday are at 7:30 am, 11:40 am and 1:15 pm. On Saturday, we celebrate a Vigil Mass at 5:00 pm. On Sunday, we have Masses at 9:00 am and 11:00 am. 

Our gift and bookstore offers a large variety of books about our Catholic faith and spirituality. We also have many religious gifts and a number of other items in the store. If you are looking for something special, ask one of our helpful staff in the bookstore and they will be able to assist you.

For those wishing to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we offer Confessions Monday through Friday from 10:30 am until 3:00 pm and on Saturday 12:00 pm until 4:30 pm.

The Franciscan Friars at St. Peter’s remember you in our  daily prayers. Together, let us ask the Good Lord to watch over us and protect us. May each of us continue to grow in God’s love and caring for one another.
