Guest Speakers: Karin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, L.C.S.W. She has an M.S.W. from Loyola University and provides counseling to couples, families and individuals. Dennis is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and is engaged in the private practice of law. Karin and Dennis are also partners in Mediation Services of DuPage County providing conflict resolution to couples and families. Together, Dennis and Karin are trained and experienced Pairs® Leaders providing couples with the skills necessary to create a joyful, fulfilling and lasting relationship based on mutual respect. They specialize in counseling couples in communication Karin and Dennis are joyfully married, have three children and are still best friends.
Praying in the midst of life! St. Peter's Church God is present . . . even in busy lives! At times our ability to be attentive to God's presence is diminished. Other times we seem to have lost the ability to pray or we feel that the way we have been praying does not fit us anymore. Maybe we want to grow deeper and stronger in our God-relationship but our constant busyness and activity cause us to loose our awareness of the Divine power at work within our life. How can we awaken our soul to God's presence in our busy lives? A Busy Person's Retreat! How does the retreat work? The format for this retreat requires participants to commit to an hour and a half, each day for one week, for a combination of spiritual direction and personal, private prayer. Participants will meet privately with a spiritual director for one half-hour of personal conversation through which the director will help the directee to notice and listen to God's voice in their lives. The spiritual director does not judge or tell a directee what they should do. The emphasis is on the relationship one has with God and God's desire to be in relationship with each one of us. Participants also commit to one-hour of personal prayer determined by their own daily schedule in any setting. Is the retreat for me? If you have a desire to grow in your relationship with God, are willing to commit to meeting with a spiritual director for one half hour each day for the week and an hour of personal prayer - God may be inviting you to make this Busy Person's Retreat.
